It was great to get a comment from someone who is working on the German Sportscaster checklist. That motivated me to look through the stack of German cards that I purchased a while back. I did find two of the promo cards with the 993 numbering.
Just like the North American set, they are not numbered 1 and 2. Does anyone have a list of the promo cards used for each set?
I also have some of the promo cards from the German edition. In addition to Niki Lauda and Rosi Mittermaier, I have Gerd Müller (17993-09), Muhammad Ali (17993-06) and Liverpool (17993-16). Unfortunately I don't have a list.
ReplyDeleteThat's more promo cards than I've seen for the North American set. What about the non-sequential numbering?
ReplyDeleteIts always the same: 17993
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that there were 10 German promo cards, but then again, they also said they were numbered 1 through 10, so...who knows. Part of the fun (frustration?) of collecting Sportscasters! Lol
ReplyDeleteWhat promo cards have you seen from the North American set? I have three (four if the "printed in Japan" Nadia Comaneci is one): 1967 Green Bay Packers (# 03 993 07; printed in Japan). Henry Aaron (# 03 993 06; printed in Japan), and Indianapolis (# 03 993 05; printed in Italy). Are there others?
ReplyDeleteGood to know. I don't think that I have an Indianapolis card.
