Card Collecting Books Don't Always Ignore Sportscaster Cards

Many collecting books don't mention Sportscaster cards.  The book in the link below makes some nice comments about these cards.

Collecting Vintage Football Cards - A Complete Guide With Checklists

I'm still looking for that master checklist.  At this point I'm planning on creating one myself, something I've already made some progress with using Excel.  I haven't decided on the best online platform for such a checklist.  Does anyone have suggestions?

  1. Sounds like a daunting task. Good luck

  2. Since there is no deadline, once I complete my checklist of the North American set and the variations, it should be easier to do the other ones. I've gotten really far with it to date.

Other than a few cards it is certainly an affordable passion. Once I decide how I want it to look, it can also help me learn some new computer skills.

  3. The Trading Card Database has checklists for them, at least some of them. There are some athletes who don't appear anywhere else.

  4. I will check that out and see what is provided there. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

  5. That site will at least prevent me from needing to type in the names. Now I can concentrate on the variations and the foreign sets.

  6. Hello! I just came across your website on Sportscaster cards. I was wondering, did you ever complete your checklist of foreign sets [or at least a list of the number of print runs (blank, A, B, C, D, or E) for each series/pack issued]? If so, I'd be very interested in receiving copies of them!!! Especially a list of any cards contained in them that do not exist in the North American set! (Also, of course, the North American set checklist.) Thanks in advance!

  7. I am moving closer. I think the foreign sets will take me a few years. You should be able to see my e-mail on the top of the page - runforekelloggs@gmail.com

  8. I think that the trading card database (tradingcarddb.com) has a general list. I am going to add sport, variations and a few other things to the list that I am creating.
